Buffy: 15 Things You Didn’t Know About Spike

spike-in-buffy-the-vampire-slayerThere’s not a more charismatic antihero in all the Buffyverse than Spike. Creator Joss Whedon originally meant to kill him off after his first story arc in season 2. But fan response was so fervent, they kept him around, and Spike grew to be one of the most popular (and controversial) characters of Whedon’s career.

There are things that even a casual fan knows about this globe-trotting London ex-pat. Turned vamp in 1880, he reinvented himself through the decades, but settled on first wave punk as his “forever look”. Spike is a fan of the Sex Pistols and the daytime soap, Passions. Always armed with a snarky quip, Spike can rock some eyeliner, and he loves a bit of the old Ultraviolence.

Maybe you’ve seen every episode of Buffy and Angel, and worn out the pause button on that scene in “Wrecked” (you know the one). But even the most dedicated Spikettes won’t know all 15 of these Spike facts. If you’re not caught up on all things Buffyverse, proceed at your own risk. Here be spoilers.

iZombie – Liv’s Worst Personalities

izombie-liv-eats-brains-frat-party-rose-mciverThere are upsides and downsides to being one of the walking, talking dead. On the plus, you have super strength and agility, can survive any non-head wound, and can temporarily acquire new skills and (for better or worse) memories from the former owners of your dinner. But if you aren’t careful, or you need to, say, eat someone’s brain for mystery-solving purposes, adopting their cognition can get pretty ugly. That’s why the paramilitary group, Fillmore-Graves, invented Brain Mush – a Go-Gurt packet filled with a grey matter blend that manages to keep side effects to a minimum. Olivia Moore certainly knows a thing or two about side effects. Though her Rachel Ray-esque recipes are usually invaluable tools in aiding the Seattle PD, they’ve frequently wreaked havoc on Liv’s personal life. On numerous occasions, she’s hurt loved ones, and put lives in danger because she let the brains get the better of her.

This list discusses the plot points of 16 episodes spanning iZombie’s first three seasons, so consider this your SPOILER WARNING. And with that, here are Olivia Moore’s 15 Worst Brain Food Personalities.

Screenrant List: Actors Who Cheated w/ Their Co-Stars

bratt-pitt-angelina-jolie-mr-and-mrs-smith-house-explosionStars are just like us! They get coffee, take their kids to the park, and have sordid affairs with their co-workers. Only, when your office is Hollywood, the whole world becomes privy to your dirty deeds. There are many reasons why a star might choose to rehearse their love scenes after hours. Sometimes, their relationship was already as good as over. Often, it’s as simple as an inability to remain monogamous when their partner’s not around. Very occasionally, it’s a matter of finding a love they never thought possible. Or maybe they’re just so bored with the movie they’re making that they can’t help messing around with their hot co-star. Is it a coincidence that most of the films these thespian philanderers used as their own personal Ashley Madison were total flops? Is there something to the Seven Year Itch theory?

Whatever the reason, there is never a shortage of “close friends” willing to spill the juicy details to the press, which is why we can bring you 15 pairs of actors who couldn’t keep it in their pants on the job.

Screenrant List: Where Are They Now? The Cast Of Wild Things

neve-campbell-suzie-toller-denise-richards-kelly-van-ryan-wild-things-pool-headshots

Welcome to Blue Bay, an alligator-infested, affluent South Florida beach community. High school guidance counselor, Sam Lombardo (Matt Dillon), gets in hot water when an heiress (Denise Richards), and a misfit from the wrong side of the swamp (Neve Campbell) accuse him of rape. The plot has more twists than a Twizzler and almost every line is loaded with innuendo. Whether it holds up is a matter of opinion and tolerance of late nineties radio hits, but you can’t beat the cast, most of which have maintained steady work. Plus, the sexy leads give the audience more than an eyeful.

In 1998, erotic thrillers were still hot following the success of Basic Instinct. Richards had just bug-zapped her way into our hearts in Starship Troopers. Campbell had Screamed twice and wanted to branch out, and Dillon and Kevin Bacon were already well established stars. People clamored to see the film, which recouped almost half its budget on opening weekend, and ultimately grossed over $55 million.

In order to properly celebrate this cinematic revelation, we’ll need to get specific, so this is your SPOILER ALERT. If you haven’t seen the film, close your browser and get to it. We’ll wait. For the rest of you, it’s time to learn what’s up with the cast of Wild Things…

Screenrant List: Game Of Thrones: 15 Things You Didn’t Know About Brienne Of Tarth

brienne-of-tarth-confused-in-game-of-thrones

Game of Thrones‘ Brienne of Tarth has had an epic journey thus far. She has fought (and beaten) the Hound, fought (and escaped) a bear, fulfilled a whole bunch of oaths, and bonded with the Kingslayer. We last saw her rowing away from Rivverrun with Pod, bidding Jaime a mournful farewell, after having sworn her service to Sansa Stark.

Portrayed by actress Gwendolyn Christie on the television series, Brienne has overcome numerous obstacles in order to become a Shield-maiden, and she exceeds the job requirements with her fierce loyalty, keen battle instincts, and an unparalleled sense of honor. Her unusual height and athletic build helped to liberate her in a way that wouldn’t have been possible had she been a conventional beauty. If her father married her off successfully, she would be spiritually imprisoned in a castle and corset. But Brienne managed to rise above the limitations of her gender and social standing to make her own destiny.

We’ll be catching up with Brienne in a few short weeks when Season 7 drops on July 16, 2017. In the meantime, here are 15 things you didn’t know about our girl from the Sapphire Isle…

Screenrant List: 15 Regrettable Final Roles for Great Actors

chris-farley-in-almost-heroesGiven the option, we imagine that most actors would choose to go out in a blaze of glory, hitting a career high, or maybe even making their best film, just prior to their death. But it usually doesn’t work out that way. Of course, bad movies happen to good actors all the time, but they don’t always get to make up for it before kicking the bucket. What’s worse, the films they would have preferred to sweep under the rug tend to gain extra notoriety on account of their…finality.

Here are 15 roles in films that acclaimed, promising, and/or beloved actors would likely prefer never to have seen the light of day. The problems run the gamut. Sometimes, these actors are quite clearly phoning it in. Very occasionally, it’s a role of which they should be utterly ashamed, or their talents were simply squandered. Often, however, their performance is the best thing about these films that are so bad, that they’re…still pretty bad. Only a few of these titles qualify for “cult” status. The rest are Rotten Tomatoed and Razzie Approved.

Screenrant List: 15 Game of Thrones Couples We’d Love to See

kristofer-hivju-as-tormund-and-gwendoline-christie-as-brienne-on-game-of-thrones

Let’s face it, life in the Seven Kingdoms sucks. On Game of Thrones, minimum wage, benefits, and unions have yet to be invented. Even having a title by no means assures you a relatively happy life — nor even a safe one. If it’s not the job or a rival that kills you, it’ll be the greyscale or a White Walker. But sometimes, a twist of fate, or a bonding experience, affords our favorite characters just a hint of happiness.

At long last, season seven is nearly upon us! There is undoubtedly a plethora of treachery, misdeeds, and murder most foul on the horizon. Basically, with George R.R. Martin and the Game of Thrones showrunners in charge of your fate, you could die at any moment. The best that folks can hope for are a few fleeting moments of joy during their short, miserable existences.

Here are 15 characters on Game of Thrones who we would love to see hook up, be it sexually, romantically, or just because they would make awesome scene partners…
