Film Review: Prospect

The universe is vast and mysterious. But the fact remains that even if humans manage to dwell beyond the confines of Earth, we will still be humans. We’ll likely always be slaves to some sort of currency and thrive on a class divide, even in a far-flung future galaxy. Writer/director team Zeek Earl and Christopher Caldwell work off of this concept in their debut feature space western, Prospect. The alien world they’ve miraculously created on a shoestring budget is rife with implications of an expansive human-populated universe that is inaccessible to their financially-strapped protagonist.

Cee (Sophie Thatcher) is a teenager living with her widower father, Damon (Jay Duplass), on a space freighter. They are prospectors in orbit around a green moon rich with precious gems called aurelacs. Extracting them from their fleshy spermatozoidal sacs is a risky and complicated process. But Damon is uniquely skilled and also desperate to make ends meet, which is why he decides to risk their lives for the chance at one big score that would cure their financial ills for good. Of course, they aren’t the only ones after the motherlode. Damon’s get-rich-quick scheme soon turns into a fight for survival for him and his daughter…

15 On-Screen Siblings Who Fell In Love Off-Screen

Love triangles and relationship overlap abound in Hollywood. It’s not at all uncommon for actors to develop feelings for their co-stars. If they’re playing love interests or a couple, the authentic chemistry between them can elevate their performances. But sometimes, not only are their characters not love interests, they’re related!

Okay, so it’s not really wrong for actors hired to play siblings in a movie or TV show hook up. But knowing about their private lives can certainly effect the viewing experience, and fill otherwise typical brother and sister exchanges with creepy undertones. In fact, unless their last name is Lannister or Targaryen, it’s especially important that they’re able to convince audiences they don’t want to tear each other’s clothes off.

These 15 couples were hired to play siblings but, inconveniently, found themselves wanting to play Flowers in the Attic when the cameras stopped rolling. If you think about it, if their real-life relationship seems weird to viewers, then they’re doing their jobs well. On the other hand, most of these couples didn’t last, so maybe they weren’t able to get past their familial feelings in the end.

Whatever the case, here are 15 On-Screen Siblings Who Fell In Love Off-Screen.

Screenrant List: Game Of Thrones: 15 Things You Didn’t Know About Brienne Of Tarth

brienne-of-tarth-confused-in-game-of-thrones

Game of Thrones‘ Brienne of Tarth has had an epic journey thus far. She has fought (and beaten) the Hound, fought (and escaped) a bear, fulfilled a whole bunch of oaths, and bonded with the Kingslayer. We last saw her rowing away from Rivverrun with Pod, bidding Jaime a mournful farewell, after having sworn her service to Sansa Stark.

Portrayed by actress Gwendolyn Christie on the television series, Brienne has overcome numerous obstacles in order to become a Shield-maiden, and she exceeds the job requirements with her fierce loyalty, keen battle instincts, and an unparalleled sense of honor. Her unusual height and athletic build helped to liberate her in a way that wouldn’t have been possible had she been a conventional beauty. If her father married her off successfully, she would be spiritually imprisoned in a castle and corset. But Brienne managed to rise above the limitations of her gender and social standing to make her own destiny.

We’ll be catching up with Brienne in a few short weeks when Season 7 drops on July 16, 2017. In the meantime, here are 15 things you didn’t know about our girl from the Sapphire Isle…

Let’s face it, life in the Seven Kingdoms sucks. On Game of Thrones, minimum wage, benefits, and unions have yet to be invented. Even having a title by no means assures you a relatively happy life — nor even a safe one. If it’s not the job or a rival that kills you, it’ll be the greyscale or a White Walker. But sometimes, a twist of fate, or a bonding experience, affords our favorite characters just a hint of happiness.

At long last, season seven is nearly upon us! There is undoubtedly a plethora of treachery, misdeeds, and murder most foul on the horizon. Basically, with George R.R. Martin and the Game of Thrones showrunners in charge of your fate, you could die at any moment. The best that folks can hope for are a few fleeting moments of joy during their short, miserable existences.

Here are 15 characters on Game of Thrones who we would love to see hook up, be it sexually, romantically, or just because they would make awesome scene partners…
